Cooking at the market
Local housewives and quite a few expats buy some of their food at the country’s large and small markets. Then there is the sort of expats, to which I also count myself, who just like to seek the atmosphere and life of such markets. Foreign smells hit the nose, not always to the advantage haha, the eyes wallow in colorful vegetables and fruits and many an unknown can be discovered here. I try to capture impressions with the video and photo camera and thereby these markets are a favorite hunting ground of mine. Here it is now the large public market in the city of Dumaguete, Negros Oriental, because we are currently at our second place of residence, which will later become our permanent home, in Dauin. The markets not only sell food and groceries, they also cook for small restaurants called Kitchenette, Eatery or Carinderia. Here are a few pictures of cooks at the market.
