The boulevard of Dumaguete in Negros Oriental makes the town a seaside resort like the ones you might know from Italy. Dumaguete’s boulevard, however, has its own charm. If it is already beautiful to look at in the bright hours of the day, it comes to life even more so when darkness falls.
Couples stroll or sit on the benches and walls. Refreshment and food stands are set up. Horse-drawn carriages wait in the street for a short ride and old men sing old songs in the plaza.
Those seeking further relaxation can get a massage under the evening sky.
Along the street are old, renovated villas, often used by restaurants and restobars in true style.
At one end is the famous Siliman University with its historic building, and just across the street is the busy seaport of Dumaguete.
It’s nice to spend the evening here.
